This pâte de verre vase, titled Eurythmie, features two cartouches adorned with figures engaged in Eurythmics—a rhythmic gymnastics exercise performed to music. Swiss musician Émile Jaques-Dalcroze developed Eurythmics as a method of musical education and taught it at the Hellerau School of Music, a Neo-Hellenistic institution that emphasized Greek literature, philosophy, and art. The school's popularity declined after the outbreak of World War I in 1915. The vase captures the fluid movements of youthful figures, their graceful gestures reaching elegantly toward the sky. Their modern hairstyles, ranging from bobs to chignons, identify them as contemporary to the period.

Gabriel Argy-Rousseau (1885-1953) is with Decorchement and after Cros and Walter, the glass artist for whom the "glass paste process is certainly the most artistic and the most personal because it allows the artist to easily render all his thoughts". A talented artist, a complete artist, at the same time a painter, sculptor, remarkable photographer (he invented a color photography process before Kodak) attracted by chemistry, physics, tireless researcher, it will finally be in the field of glass paste that he will flourish. He produces a work that literally explodes in the eyes of the public in 1920 to end around 1933. This relatively short but terribly fertile period allows him to produce a series of glass pastes representative of the styles of his time. Owing nothing to anyone in terms of inspiration or technique, his work is the result of a solitary approach, an original expression of a feeling, a personal will. Very cultured, all his work will bear the imprint of his classical training. The work that we present to you summarizes the above: Entitled "Eurythmy", it is one of the artist's masterpieces. Made in 1932, at the time when the artist was fully realizing himself, having become independent after having dissolved the company founded with Moser-Millot. He also had to suffer the backlash of the 1929 crisis, like all artists.
