The "Newell Post" lamp by Tiffany Studios New York, features three green-gold Favrile glass shades with blue and purple iridescence, suspended from a patinated bronze “Wilson” base with a twisted stem. The "Wilson" base is wonderfully dynamic, with a splayed, stylized, striated foot, organically shaped ribbing on the stem, and a whimsical, vegetal swirl crowning the composition. The Favrile glass shades, in their refined decoration, subdued coloration, and delicate outline balance the weight and drama of the base nicely, providing their own visual punch when the light is turned on, as their warmth and iridescence shine, casting magical light downward.
