The Egyptian motif found here was no doubt inspired by Louis Comfort Tiffany's great love of the region and particularly its Ancient aesthetic language. He traveled to this region in the world after being inspired by Mark Twain's famed text, Innocents Abroad. Tiffany not only integrated visual motifs from this region into his glass, he incorporated them into other mediums like oil painting and into the architectural layout of his home as well.
