Oscar Heyman Ruby and Diamond Flower Ring

$15,000
Created in the 1970s, this ruby and diamond flower motif ring is a design by Oscar Heyman. It is composed of four pear-cut rubies and four-pear cut diamonds arrayed as a series of petals suggested the firm's classic pansy motif, with one diamond set as a dewdrop. Charming and dainty, this elegant little ring by "the jewelers' jeweler" with its creative use of fancy-cut gems is vivid and youthful in color and spirit.

The firm of Oscar Heyman Brothers manufactured jewelry to the designs of Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Raymond Yard, Marcus & Co. and others beginning in the early 20th century. Some invisibly-set jewelry designed by Van Cleef & Arpels for the American market was entrusted to Heyman for manufacture, and they became behind the scenes masters of that difficult art. From the 1970s and onward, the firm produced many original designs as well as custom work to the specifications of clients via a wide network of high end retail affiliates.
