Tiffany Studios New York Intaglio Carved Floral Glass Vase

This Tiffany Studios New York intaglio carved cameo Favrile glass vase, featuring an enchanting sea of blue-green iridescence as its background upon which a sparse but elegant bouquet of white flowers seems to float. Each of the white petaled blooms is outlined in black line that resembles the stroke of a ink soaked brush, and each outline extends past the bounds the flower itself to create a stark stem from which bright green buds explode.

Adorning the flowers are small scarab beetles rendered in beautiful, excellent detail. The scarab beetle was of incredible importance to Louis Comfort Tiffany himself, who found great meaning in the all-powerful Ancient Egyptian symbol after visiting the pyramids and spending extensive time in Northern Africa.
