Tiffany Studios New York Glass Candlesticks

Stately but cheerful, these royal blue and subdued gold candlesticks by Tiffany Studios New York are a delightful addition to any collector's shelf, table or mantle. Flat discs with shallow lips bookend the design of the pieces, with the bottom most tier decorated in rich, burnished gold and the upper most largely colored in a bright and slightly iridescent blue, but decorated with both an inner and outer ring of gold. A simple twisted rope design in this same vibrant blue connects the upper and lower discs, offering a refreshing moment of translucency in an otherwise opaque glass design.

This piece is of particular note in that Louis Comfort Tiffany took the time and great attention to attend to a form of light many believed was of the past in 1900. A near baroque design with modern sensibilities, these candlesticks promise to elevate any surface without overpowering it.
