Tiffany Studios New York Ebonized Wood Reclining Armchair

This ebonized wood reclining armchair, designed by none other Louis Comfort Tiffany himself, serves as a wonderful reminder of the maverick's many mesmerizing artistic capabilities. A reserved composition made of leaning lines, slight tilts in the orientation of the design's elements create great visual interest out of simple outlines. Just as the diagonals of the arms extend past the resolute back, so too do the bottom elements of the chair, which were executed as stylized trianglular shapes, complementing the overall form of the piece and extending its lines to provide added visual complexity.
