Louis Comfort Tiffany's highly prized picture frames were created to celebrate a relatively new and exciting medium of the time, that of photography. Though still expensive and reserved largely for the elite, the advent of the Kodak "Brownie," in 1900, made higher quality photography more accessible then ever before, and ignited a craze for having photographs in the home.
