Mauboussin Retro 18K Gold Bracelet

Composed of 18K gold, this Retro bracelet was designed by Mauboussin, Paris, circa 1940. It is is composed of vertically set and interlocking wave-form links set at slight angles to each other. This highly orginal Mauboussin bracelet, with its tight, parabolic curves, is an unusual interpretation of 1930s geometric modernism.

This Mauboussin bracelet was made circa 1940, when gold for jewelry was becoming scarce due to the War. The designers' response to the popular "tank track" style, which ran against the house aesthetic, was limited - but their selective exploration of the form produced jewelry that was chic, sculptural and dynamic.
