Gabriel Argy-Rousseau "Musiciens Grecs" Pâte de Verre Glass Vase
This French Art Nouveau pâte de verre vase, entitled "Musiciens Grecs," or "Greek Musicians," by Gabriel Argy-Rousseau, features a wonderfully soft composition in hues of lush purples and powdery pinks depicting an abstracted human form gently stroking a lyre, kneeling on the border of a frieze in deep magenta that runs along the base of the vase. The patterning found in the frieze can be seen in the background of the entire composition is various depths of relief.
