Diamond and Ruby Bombé Ring
Composed of diamonds and rubies set in platinum, this bombé form ring dates from the 1930s. Centrally channel-set with a line of three step-cut square diamonds vertically framed by round-cut diamonds and French-cut rubies, and continuing to diamond shoulders, the subtly-domed platinum form is pierced to create lozenge and and streamlined motifs. With its counterpoints of rich red and colorless white light, and its interplay of round and angular cuts, this ring is a sparkling and bold 1930s jewel.
