Daum Nancy Enameled and Etched Hyacinth Landscape Glass Vase

This brightly enameled and etched glass vase by Daum Nancy is dominated by two planes of mottled glass, golden yellow on top of deep purple, which together create a multifaceted and highly detailed floral landscape scene. The French Art Nouveau glass vase is decorated with red etched and enameled hyacinth flowers of the greatest delicacy. Once the flora break through into the golden section of the vase, the etched scene is enhanced by bright, verdant green enamel, which gives way to the vibrant red hyacinth flowers.

The decoration and shape of this wonderfully detailed vase are very much in harmony. The piece's composition is such that the flowers bend and sway, reach up to, and then wilt gently, at the widest circumference of the vase, paying homage to its elegant overlying shape.
