Claudius Linossier Dinanderie Vase
This rare open-mouth French Art Deco vase by Claudius Linossier consists of hammered copper and brass with geometric dinanderie decoration on a burnt umber ground. The shape of this vase was Linossier’s adaptation of a Grecian Calyx-krater, a vessel used for mixing water and wine. The lip is decorated with a silver and anthracite argyle border while the frieze is composed of red copper and silver chevrons. The lower section of the vase is anthracite patinated silver.
