Ceylon No-Heat Sapphire and Diamond "Halo" Ring

The concentric rings of diamonds found in this ring create a glittering "halo" of light surrounding a sizeable, no-heat Ceylon sapphire. The elegance of the ring, and the brilliant blue hue of the exquisite sapphire, is a statement of pure natural color, presented on a minimalist platinum mount.

Sri Lanka has been a historic source of colored sapphires for millennia, mentioned by Marco Polo in his book Travels from 1298. The Chinese explorer Ma Huan visited Sri Lanka in 1421, and described the sapphire gravels of Adam’s Peak, a mountain holy to four religions: “This mountain abounds with precious stones. These gems are being continually washed out of the ground by heavy rains, and are sought for and found in the sand carried down the hill by the torrents.”
