Tiffany Studios New York "Magnolia" Art Enamel Vase
This bespoke Tiffany Studios New York "Magnolia" vase, by Louis Comfort Tiffany, features a copper base with opulent gold, white, pink, red, and green enamels taking the shape of dynamic magnolia blossoms on the verge of full bloom, already over-spilling the form. Designed from watercolor renderings and photographs from the enamel department's lead designer, Agnes Northrop, this incredible vase takes a painterly, impressionist approach to enamel work. The magnolia, which was among Tiffany's favorite flowers, is softened here into near abstraction, perfectly capturing—and indeed highlighting—the delicate and gentle nature of the blossom.
