An abstract design by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co., these 18K gold and diamond "V-Rope" clip earrings were made circa 1980s. Each earclip with omega back is designed as a wirework form highlighted by round brilliant-cut diamond accents. Flattering and imbued with upswept movement, these dynamic earrings by one of Tiffany's great modernists are a jewelry classic.

Jean Schlumberger received his design training in 1930s Parisian fashion circles, and by "scrounging", as he called it, in the Marché des Puces, the most vibrant Parisian flea market. One of his finds, a child's treasure basket, inspired a number of his early "basketry" creations using gold wire.
