René Boivin Paris Diamond Leaf Earrings

$95,000
Created around 1955-1960 in the salon of René Boivin, Paris, these 18K gold earrings are set with over six and a half carats of diamonds. Each clip earring is designed as a stylized leaf, centering a larger old European-cut diamond weighing approximately 2.50 carats, the slightly irregular forms further enhanced by smaller old European-cut diamonds set in lobes with subtle flattened gold edges. Wearable from day into night, these gracefully stylized earrings set with fiery old diamonds represent the refined work of the team of extraordinary women who created art jewelry for Boivin, Paris.

The women designers of René Boivin loved to draw inspiration from nature, but were also dedicated to stylization and abstraction, and their jewels always retained the sense of the artist’s hand and mind at work, bringing imagination and intellectualism to all their designs.
