Precious Opal and Old European-cut Diamond Pendant Necklace

$9,500
This antique precious opal and diamond pendant necklace, created in England around 1900, is set in 18K gold. Suspended by a circular tracelink chain, the pendant with detachable bail centers a round cabochon opal with blue and green phenomenon, framed by old European-cut diamond melee and oval cabochon opals interspersed with 3-stone clusters of old European-cut diamonds, suspending a flexibly-set oval opal cabochon. A beautiful delicate jewel of the Edwardian period, this pendant necklace is an exploration of subtle spectral color phenomena and brilliance produced by gemstones and white light.
