Sapphire and Diamond Gold Torsade Necklace

This elegant French Retro torsade necklace, dating from the 1940s, features approximately five-and-a-half carats of sapphires and nearly four carats of diamonds, set in gold and platinum. Designed as a graduating sequence of curling gold leaves, highlighted by alternating lines of calibré-cut sapphires and round-cut diamonds, the necklace is completed by a double line of soft, rounded mesh chain and a leaf-form clasp. An example of exuberant Retro volume combined with stylized naturalism, this curvaceous jewel comfortably conforms to the neck for a rich blue and gold look, enhanced by the diamonds’ white sparkle.
