Louis Zorra Plique-à-Jour Enamel Brooch

$22,500

This Art Nouveau brooch by Louis Zorra, in vibrant green and pearlescent plique-à-jour enamel, expresses the beauty and vitality of nature. Highlighted by two robust freshwater pearls and a diamond dew drop, the gold flowing branches bear abundant amethyst grapes that over-spill the frame. This artistic jewel with bold color and strong, unified design transforms into a pendant as well, and looks beautiful on a chain or velvet ribbon, as a miniature visual expression of the Art Nouveau spirit.

It’s rare to come by the work by Louis Zorra, an artist believed to have arrived in Paris from Asti in the north of Italy. He exhibited a number of times at the salons of the Société des Artistes Français, and his jewels have a distinctive bold color sense and confident flair.
