Tiffany & Co. Jadeite Brooch
Created by Tiffany & Co, in the late 19th century, this brooch is composed of jadeite jade and 18K gold. The rectangular jadeite plaque is carved as a flowering prunus vine set within an applied bead and wirework mount with flanking multiple-petal flower motifs, reverse with engraved geometric and foliate devices. This richly colored and multi-textured brooch artfully fuses the Chinese art of jade carving with ancient global techniques of goldsmithing.
