Tiffany Studios New York "Poppy" Table Lamp
Featuring a wondrous shade of crimson on red poppies, alongside a special element of brilliant design, this "Wire Mesh Poppy" table lamp by Tiffany Studios New York is exciting, both as a technical marvel and an object of exceptional beauty. The wire mesh, which exudes the delicacy of mosaic, highly textures the lifted glass leaves, creating a wreath-like border along the base of the leaded glass shade. The bold, luscious brightness of the poppies, and their presence in multiple stages of bloom across the mottled blue-green ground, may be both a symbol and a warning of their toxic allure (as they are the base source of opium). The dynamic shade sits upon a "twisted vine" patinated bronze base.

The wire mesh featured in this stunning poppy lamp was the brainchild of famed Tiffany Studios New York designer Clara Driscoll, who originally came up with the inventive design element for the wings on a dragonfly lamp.
