Emerald and Diamond Spiral Earrings

These beautifully-made emerald and diamond clipback earrings are set in platinum. Designed as bombé spirals of concentric lines of marquise-cut diamonds and circular-cut emeralds, each centers a round brilliant-cut diamond, with a GIA report confirming D or E color and VVS2 or VS2 clarity. Highly three-dimensional and densely packed with gems, these clip earrings radiate vivid satiny green and sparkling white light.

Marquise-cut diamonds such those in this pair of earrings are among the earlier “fancy” shapes. The great Ancien Regime art collectors and museum patrons Charles and Jayne Wrightsman chose a large marquise-cut solitaire as her engagement ring, as legend traces the marquise-cut’s invention to one of the couple's favorite eras, the 18th century French court of Louis XV and Madame de Pompadour.
