Daum Nancy "Poppy" Cameo Glass Vase
This cameo glass vase by Daum Nancy is comprised of three pinkish-red poppy flowers, each wheel-carved against a sky blue martelé technique background, and accompanied by dark brown foliage with a peachy rising sun. The delicacy of the flower petals in this French Art Nouveau vase marks the extreme technical precision with which they were made, while the dramatic graduation of complementary and contrasting colors show a mastery of line and color rarely found outside the ouvre of Daum Nancy.
