Amalric Walter and Henri Bergé "Le Lucane Cerf-Volant" Pâte de Verre Glass Dish
This "Le Lucane Cerf-Volant," or "Stag Beetle," pâte de verre dish, by Amalric Walter and Henri Bergé, is richly yellow in color, coming to two raised edges much like the shape of a boat, with a tertiary raised point in the center of the composition, upon which two battling stag beetles face each other. A slight dip in the side of the dish gives the piece an overall more organic shape, suggesting perhaps a windblown sand dune upon which the beetles may be interacting.
