This charming French pâte de verre paperweight from the 1920s, by Amalric Walter and Henri Bergé, features a small chameleon of beautiful coloration and texture with studied countenance. The intricately textured deep blue chameleon at the heart of this composition is accented with bright, rich blue streaks and a complex patterning of vibrant greenish-blue spots. The reptile sits perched on a greenish-brown, weather-beaten rock.
