In the 1950s, combining round brilliant-cut diamonds and marquise-cut diamonds became a signature look of New York’s Harry Winston. Winston had the modernist approach of allowing his favorite brilliant-cut diamond shapes themselves - rounds and marquises in combination - to determine the ultimate forms of his jewels. Pendant earrings designed as alternatively as sparkling clusters and/or cascades of diamonds were the natural result of these explorations of pure form. The clean, crisp look of brilliant-cut diamonds mounted in platinum remains a timeless classic.
