Tiffany Studios New York "Damascene Harp" Floor Lamp

$27,500

This elegant light fixture, with its famous "Damascene" shade, is celebrated for being as beautifully-colored and iridescent when lit as when the lamp is off, with a curvaceously-framed "Harp" bronze base that accents the shade's overall form. The patinated bronze base is further completed by the inclusion of wonderful details, such as the shield-shaped leaf-like feet.

The "Damascene" shade is comprised of so called "Dychroide" glass, an innovation by Arthur J. Nash, production manager at Tiffany Furnaces. It has the unique quality of appearing green in reflected light, and amber in transmitted light. This innovation gives a dynamic quality to Tiffany's lamps that have proven to be a true unification of form and function.
