Tiffany Studios New York "Damascene" Glass Three-Arm Table Lamp

This delicate "Damascene" glass table lamp from Tiffany Studios New York, which demonstrates an unusual and striking array of color—including subtle undercurrents of amber hues and golden orange highlights—rests on a beautifully refined three-armed patinated bronze base. The base is so minimalist in its branch-like construction so as to appear to be barely supporting the shade at all, and gives the "Damascene" shade the appearance of a floating green dome, espousing a beautiful array of colored green and amber light.

One of the most lovely things about a "Damascene" shade is that they are as beautiful when the lamp is on as when it is off. The iridescence and complex interplay of colors, all subtly arranged to create a nearly seamless and beautiful pattern, still shine when the lamp is not illuminated, offering an equally beautiful color composition.
