This flower form Favrile glass vase, by Louis Comfort Tiffany for Tiffany Studios New York, is shaped like a budding flower with an elongated, subtly-undulating, and ultra-delicate stem. The entire composition shimmers in iridescent glass of the warmest hues of ochre and marigold, particularly around the ruffled rim, where the color darkens slightly and the iridescence intensifies.

Favrile glass vases in the shapes of stylized flowers were among the earliest creations of the Tiffany Glass & Decorating Company, forerunner of Tiffany Studios New York. Initial examples of this technique date from approximately 1894, although later pieces show greater refinement. Flower form vases like this one from Tiffany Studios New York have great variety in stem length and rim shape.
