This graceful rose water sprinkler vase by Tiffany Studios New York is made of iridescent golden Favrile glass that anchors itself in a spherical bottom form before tapering delicately into a slight curve "Gooseneck," complete with a curvaceous undulation in the neck before the lipped opening. The "Gooseneck" design is considered one of Louis Comfort Tiffany's most original and delicate forms, inspired by the Persian rosewater sprinklers that he so admired.

Louis Comfort Tiffany first became familiar with the rosewater sprinkler through his early mentorship with Edward C. Moore of Tiffany & Co.; Moore was a dedicated collector of a variety of cultural objects, and a significant influence on Tiffany's aesthetic—Moore's own 16th Century Persian rosewater sprinkler is on view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Tiffany promoted his own rosewater sprinklers by using them as props for his infamous Egyptian fête.
