Tiffany and 20th-Century Design Sales

As reported by Maine Antiques Digest, on December 18, 2008 Sotheby's New York sold a rare Tiffany Studios "Pebble" lamp for $746,500. While this was a world record price for this model, it also represented a shrewd investment by its consignor, who had acquired the lamp from Macklowe Gallery, Ltd. merely 4 1/2 years earlier for $225,000, proof that Tiffany lamps are not only exquisitely beautiful, but also can be a generator of wealth if one buys the best quality.
