A Tree Grows in Brooklyn for Ben and Hillary

Through the New York Restoration Project's Gardens for the City program, Hillary Macklowe surprised her husband with the gift of a new schoolyard garden for about 900 students at P.S. 123 in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Hillary set to raising the $25,000 needed for the garden by contacting their friends and family members. In an invitation to a surprise cocktail party, she asked guests to "give Ben a present that will last beyond his years and have a great impact on a school and its students for years to come."

The New York Restoration Project, a nonprofit founded by actress and comedian Bette Midler, is dedicated to protecting and greening the city's public spaces and parks. The Macklowe's and their friends will be meeting on Saturday, May 21st at 9:30AM in front of P.S. 123 located at 100 IRVING AVENUE, BROOKLYN, NY 11237. The gardening will continue untill 2:30PM. Please contact the Gallery or Hillary directly if you would like to lend a hand.
