Art Deco Pâte-de-Verre Illuminated Plaque by Rousseau

A French Art Deco pâte-de-verre plaque by Gabriel Argy-Rousseau. The asymmetrical illuminated plaque features purple glass plates incised with vertical groves. The plates are decorated with two red tigers in relief. The pâte-de-verre rests upon a wrought iron base. Pictured in “G. Argy-Rousseau Glassware as Art”, with a Catalogue Raisonné of the Pâtes de Verre, by Janine Bloch-Dermant, Thames and Hudson, 1990, page 217, plate 28.11.
