Pinchbeck

A gold simulant, invented circa 1720 by Christopher Pinchbeck, which is comprised of a mixture of copper and zinc. Used in Georgian and later jewelry, Pinchbeck was commonly substituted for gold along with simulated diamonds to create elaborate jewelry pieces.
