Martelé

The term Martelé is derived from the French word “to hammer” and underscores the significance placed on superior craftsmanship and innovative design. A decorative technique predominately used on silver, it was applied to glass by Daum and Gallé producing a multi-faceted surface used as a background texture to a design.
