Brilliant Cut

The first brilliant cuts were introduced in the middle of the 17th century, known as Mazarins. Developed circa1900, the round brilliant is the most popular cut given to a diamond today. The modern round brilliant consists of 58 facets, 33 on the crown and 25 on the pavilion.
